Never Stop Dreaming

Amy Lee taught some wonderfully creative lessons in her Easy Ink Blending Techniques class. While I enjoyed and learned from them all, my favorite was the faux watercolor. I am not a great artist, but I do love to play around with watercolors, so this technique was great for me.

I started out by stamping the large flowers from Altenew’s Never Stop Dreaming Craft Your Life Project Kit in embossing ink on Altenew watercolor paper. I then heat embossed it with white detail powder.

I used Daniel Smith watercolors for the painting. The pink flowers are Quinacridone Pink, Quinacridone Magenta, and Opera Pink. The yellow flowers are Naples Yellow, Nickel Azo Yellow, and Aussie Red Gold. For the leaves I used Cascade Green and Undersea Green. The background is the same colors plus some Sleeping Beauty Turquoise here and there. When the card was dry I added some splatters with pH Martin’s Bleed Proof White, Cascade Green and Undersea Green. The saying is from the Never Stop Dreaming stamp set and was heat embossed with white embossing powder. I attached the piece to Altenew’s Autumn Blaze card stock, then added some shiny silver half pearls and pink sequins.

This card was very relaxing to make, just a cup of water, a brush, and some paint…let go and let the colors happen 🙂 Thanks for stopping by and never forget to dream! 🙂
